What does a Category Manager do?
In this role, you will independently manage the purchasing and marketing of various (own) brands within specific focus categories. Experience with Private Label is essential, preferably within the Home & Living sector, and/or the ability to quickly understand the market, identify opportunities, and execute them in an entrepreneurial manner. Some e-commerce experience is desirable.
To be successful in this position, you must possess strong commercial insight, work in a data-driven manner, and have a keen sense of trends and product development in interior and style. By conducting thorough analyses of sales and customer data, monitoring the competition, and anticipating the latest home trends, you will build the product assortment for the upcoming season to achieve optimal revenue and margin.
You will collaborate closely with other Category Managers and specialists within the multidisciplinary Category Team, which includes Supply Chain, Online Marketing, and Content Marketers. Together, you will identify growth opportunities and translate them into concrete actions, such as launching attractive promotions or highlighting inspiring content.
You recognize yourself in
- HBO/WO level of thinking and working
- At least 5-7 years of relevant experience as a Buyer or Category Manager within (r)etail
- Experience in the Home & Living sector and preferably some e-commerce experience
- Experience in sourcing private label collections
- Strong analytical skills, data-oriented, and results-driven
- A team player with a strong sense of responsibility
