As a Senior Mechanical Designer at Nobleo Explorer, you don’t just work on challenging technical designs – you do so primarily on-site at our clients’ locations. You translate their requirements into innovative technical solutions. You design and develop the mechanical architecture and layout, define subsystems, and ensure they meet the highest quality standards. In addition, you guide the realization and validation of technical solutions.

You collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines, such as control engineering and electronics, and report to the project leader or directly to the client.

Even though you work on-site at client locations, you remain part of our close-knit team: you will work at least one day a week from the Nobleo office and take part in regular knowledge sessions and team events to stay connected.

You will also receive guidance from an experienced coach, helping you grow not only in technical expertise but also on a personal level.

Your role as Senior Mechanical Designer

• Work on-site at client locations on challenging high-tech projects.
• Implement project plans in collaboration with the client and/or project leader.
• Independently carry out mechanical design activities, from concept phase to detailed documentation.
• Prepare technical specifications.
• Develop main and detailed designs in Siemens NX.
• Perform calculations (e.g., in Matlab or Ansys).
• Work closely with suppliers and supply chain partners to ensure designs are manufacturable within quality, cost, and lead time requirements.
• Create project documentation in compliance with machine guidelines.

What you bring

• MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in product development, preferably in high-tech systems.
• Proven experience with the full V-model: from concept design to validation.
• Experience leading a small team of engineers.
• Interest or basic knowledge in mechatronics and related fields (such as control engineering and electronics) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, a hands-on mindset, and the ability to think at a system level.
• Ambitious, proactive, and results-oriented.
• Flexible and willing to work at different client sites.
• An active network in the industry (clients, partners, suppliers) is a plus.
