The RoleAs we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Engineer Assembly engineering. As the Lead Assembly Engineer, you will be responsible for guiding and managing a talented and multidisciplinary team. As a leader, you should be able to inspire and coach your team, driving them towards success and excellence. You have a helicopter view of your discipline, steering and aligning the team on the best course of action to help us achieve the best designs and analyses within project constraints. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will work closely with the project manager, the lead engineers of the other disciplines and the Lead engineers abroad. The Lead Assembly Engineer reports to the Engineering Head in India.
Responsibilities:- Lead the Assembly engineering team (~5 engineers) and oversee the engineering, manufacturing, transportation and assembly aspects for the complete offshore floating solar platforms.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and clients while maintaining a professional demeanour knowing when to contribute and when to defer and articulating complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Process mapping and implementation of lean.
- Provide technical guidance to the team with an optimized overview for scope, time and cost from assembly. Align with the other disciplines to ensure a balanced design is achieved that complies with all requirements.
- Lead and define the scope and requirements of work packages within projects, flag and address key risks and interfaces to ensure successful project delivery.
- Review, approve and contribute to engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Ensure that all design and integration processes comply with rigorous internal, client, certification, regulatory requirements, QHSE and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with the project manager and other lead engineers on delivering scopes of work on time and within budget.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analyses.
- Be up to date regarding prior art and new developments in our wider network of suppliers and industry.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience in fields of car/aircraft manufacturing, as large mechanical equipment design.
- Experience with the car/aircraft manufacturing industry is a pre.
- Have a solid knowledge of mechanical engineering, calculation methods and standards.
- Have experience working with a multitude of different assembly engineering applications and companies touching on a majority of relevant aspects in this field.
- Experience with estimating and simulating time consumption of production processes.
- Experience with creating engineering drawings.
- Experience with PDM systems.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong helicopter view in combination with an analytical mind to evaluate concepts.
- Solution-driven and hands-on mindset and be able to work in a structured manner in a scale-up environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Startup mentality: enthusiastic, independent, getting things done and continuous improvement.
- Proven leadership skills and experience leading engineering teams.
- The ability to build and develop high-performing teams through effective communication, collaboration, and leadership.
