Senior Financial Controller

In 2018, Bitvavo launched the first version of its digital assets trading platform, to bridge the gap between traditional currencies and digital assets. We are on the mission to become the European Market Leader in cryptocurrency exchange. In the next couple of years, we will be considerably expanding our operations all around Europe and you will have the opportunity to be part of it. You will be responsible for the completeness and accuracy of our accounting, and solid reporting to our stakeholders. What does it mean? You will be an important player in the finance team. For us, finance is not just a support department. Finance is at the very core of our business processes.

• Being responsible for accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and yearly closing and financial reporting as well as ad hoc reporting
• Consolidating group entities and preparation of consolidated and company-only financial statements under the relevant accounting principles
• Coordinating the external audit
• Aligning with the business on new product features and assessing the accounting impact
• Identifying data requirements and setting up reporting to comply with new crypto regulation
• Taking initiative to implement process improvements and further strengthening the control function on daily/periodic accounting processes
• Optimize closing procedures and internal controls over reporting
• Providing accounting guidance to the financial accountants
• Carrying out ad-hoc analysis requests from management and other stakeholders

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business administration
• Min. 8-10 years of experience
• Strong knowledge of external reporting (Dutch GAAP)
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Organized, flexible, detail-orientated
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to multitask, solve problems and take responsibility for resolutions
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
