As our Lead Product Software Engineer, you will be responsible for writing, testing, delivering, and supporting a multi-tenant global system for API publishing at Wolters Kluwer.
As part of our development team, you will help ensure the effective functioning of the team in terms of software solution delivery, quality, and support. You will primarily be a backend service developer but may also undertake some smaller front-end tasks.
You will play a role in design decisions, estimation, implementation, and delivery of the system.
The position is based in the Netherlands (Alphen aan den Rijn). The team you will join is distributed across the Netherlands (Alphen aan den Rijn), Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary), and India (Pune).
We are looking for someone with a mindset to develop across the full stack, and if experience is lacking, the willingness to learn.
The project’s architecture includes the following domains:
- Several ‘data planes’ with gateways and adapters that front-end WK APIs (Envoy/Lua/Java/Kubernetes/Redis)
Responsibilities:
- Develop new features in backend micro-services using Java
- Maintain existing code across several micro-services for bugs or improvements
- Understand and maintain deployment descriptors (Kubernetes, Docker Compose)
- Document designs by analyzing alternative approaches, discussing pros and cons, and presenting findings for decision-making
- Demonstrate features in regular team demo sessions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as standups, estimation, elaboration, retrospectives, and PI planning, and represent your work
Requirements:
- Relevant experience and knowledge in software development
- Experience with technologies including Java, Envoy proxy, AWS and Azure cloud services, ArgoCD/ArgoWorkflow, Open Policy Agent, Observability tools (Kibana, Grafana), Business Intelligence Data management (AWS S3/Glue/Athena, MS PowerBI)
- A track record in projects of similar complexity involving these or similar technologies
