We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Equipment Site Commissioning Engineer to join the CPM Europe team. The projects department needs an additional mechanical expert to commission CPM machines at client locations.

Key responsibilities – What will you do?CPM Europe’s sales operations cover production, delivery, commissioning, and servicing of various types of industrial machinery, with clients worldwide. Many sales and service personnel regularly work abroad.
In the role of Commissioning Engineer, you will oversee the installation and startup processes of CPM equipment and systems at customer locations. You will coordinate on-site activities, troubleshoot startup issues, and transfer operational and maintenance knowledge to the client’s team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Travel to the client’s industrial factory site by arrangement, inspect installations, and start up machinery in factory production lines.
- Verify that equipment is installed correctly and perform mechanical, electrical, and controls checks in accordance with CPM installation and delivery documentation.
- Ensure contractual requirements are followed to ensure safe operation and that CPM equipment meets production capacity and product quality targets.
- Follow and record machinery details using company installation and test checklists and procedures.
- Identify and resolve problems during setup of the production line.
- Prepare progress reports on commissioning and share information with relevant departments.
- Attend site project meetings and prepare commissioning reports and handover protocols.
- Evaluate installation work using drawings, electrical diagrams, and process documentation of CPM machines or the complete production line at the client site.
- Verify spare parts, machinery, and tools are on hand, and that customer-installed fittings are appropriate.
- Most work is conducted at the client’s premises. Be prepared to travel internationally on a regular basis.
- Ability to travel and work independently at multinational site locations, with effective communication to the office and site team.
- Follow company and client site safety procedures and take necessary safety precautions.
- Check assembly and ensure correct installation of all connections and systems.
- Advise and delegate tasks to on-site client technicians and hired workers as needed.
- Start up and perform a test run of the machine or production line and assist with production capacity testing as required.
- Resolve problems found during installation and startup testing, using available on-site resources.
- Transfer knowledge of the machine, installation, and maintenance to the client’s operations or maintenance team.
- Strong mechanical mind with a basic knowledge of industrial electrical installations and machine controls systems.
- Practical experience with mechanical operation and maintenance of heavy industrial machinery, plus working knowledge of electric motor drives and electrical control systems. No electrical testing or controls programming experience is required for this role.
- Ability to understand operation and maintenance manuals, and drawings (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
- Experience with electric, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in installed machinery.
- Friendly personality with good communication skills, calm demeanor, and ability to balance client and company needs.
- Ability to travel and work alone while maintaining communication with the office and other site colleagues.
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
- Ability to communicate with clients and internal teams to achieve best outcomes for both parties.
- Understanding of the customer’s production process and how to analyze and resolve problems or failures.
- Ability to systematically analyze issues and advise on resolutions.
- Knowledge of applicable health, safety, environmental regulations and working hours acts for safe industrial work.
- Rights to live and work in Northern Europe ( CPM does not provide visa sponsorship for this role).
Minimum required education:
- MBO or equivalent (secondary vocational education) with 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
- One or more European languages as a mother tongue, with English at a high standard.
- Full-time permanent contract, following a successful 1-year probationary period.
- Monthly salary and overtime where applicable.
- 27 vacation days + 13 ATV days (total 40 days off).

- Around 80% of work time involves travel away from home within the EMEA region (typically 1–2 weeks at a time).
