BlockTech is a fast-paced algorithmic trading firm facilitating global cryptocurrency trading while expanding into regulated markets. As we continue to grow rapidly, we are looking for a Network Engineer to join us amid our exciting scale-up phase!
What will you do?
At BlockTech we build the development and production environment ourselves using mainly Free and Open Source software. This way, we are in control and able to switch tactics fast. At the same time, we have quite some systems to set up and maintain.
As a Network Engineer, you are responsible for all networks. Everything is built on top of Linux, from the workstations to the production systems using a mix of container and virtualization technologies. Because the company is growing, there is room for improvement which means that you can make a great impact by improving the current infrastructure and building new solutions.
In a nutshell, you will:
- Build a fast and highly available production setup with low latencies to the exchange
- Work closely with our traders, engineers and quantitative developers to identify and solve issues that arise
- Design and create new technical solutions
- Improve, maintain and monitor the network

Minimum Requirements
- Above all, you should have a passion for open-source and GNU/Linux-based software solutions
- High professional education thinking level
- At least 2 years of experience as a System/Network Engineer
- At least 1 year of experience with Linux
- Experience with Cisco (ideally CCNP) and/or Arista
- An interest in Cybersecurity. This includes system and network security but also data privacy and identity anonymity.
- A creative and critical mind who follows things until completion and comes up with new ideas
- The ability to work independently and within a team of engineers
- Eagerness to learn new things
- A positive can-do attitude
- Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written
- AWS experience is a plus
