Role DescriptionAs an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering robust electrical and instrumentation solutions across projects in industrial processes. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and commissioning of electrical and control systems, ensuring compliance with international standards and best practices. This role requires a combination of hands‑on technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams. You will also provide leadership within project teams and drive continuous improvement in electrical and instrumentation practices.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial projects, ensuring compliance with international codes and standards.
- Lead electrical and instrumentation work packages within projects, coordinating with engineering contractors and internal teams.
- Develop and evaluate specifications, design documentation, and preventive maintenance plans.
- Provide technical expertise in process automation, safety systems, and instrumentation, including SIL/SIS applications.
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting to resolve electrical and instrumentation issues.
- Ensure high‑quality design and verification documentation in line with internal and external standards.
- Mentor team members in design practices, instrumentation methodologies, and project execution.
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and project management.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in industrial or (petro)chemical sectors.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Practical experience with power electronics, variable frequency drives, and functional/logical diagrams.
- Familiarity with process automation, safety instrumentation (SIL/SIS), and related standards (e.g., NEN‑EN‑IEC61508/61511).
- Solid understanding of international Codes & Standards (ATEX, EMC, Machinery Directive, NEN1010, NEN3140, etc.).
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
