About the team: At Vintage Cash Cow and Arcavindi, technology is how we scale our impact. Every customer journey, from sending in pre-loved items to getting paid, is powered by reliable infrastructure, seamless systems, and responsive support. Our IT team is the backbone of this operation, ensuring the tools, systems, and support needed for teams to perform at their best. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on IT operations, infrastructure, and support across Europe, with responsibility for strategy, security, and alignment with business goals. The role is based at one of our European locations and may involve travel to UK offices and other European sites, as well as occasional out-of-hours support when required.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operation of network and server infrastructure across European locations.
  • Monitor and manage systems to ensure availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Maintain core IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email, and end-user devices.
  • Ensure infrastructure meets current and future business requirements.
  • Lead IT projects such as upgrades, migrations, updates, and planned outages.
  • Handle business-critical systems administration tasks.
  • Manage office and warehouse IT infrastructure, including networking and operational technology.
  • Implement and oversee security controls to protect networks, data, and communications.
  • Assess risk and maintain backup, recovery, and resilience processes.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for European systems.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations and standards.
  • Promote security awareness and support training initiatives.
  • Lead responses to security incidents and oversee remediation.
  • Ensure hardware and software licensing compliance.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software inventories across Europe.
  • Own the IT asset lifecycle: procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Configure end-user devices for new starters and replacements.
  • Set up and maintain business equipment such as TVs, phones, video conferencing, and meeting room technology.
  • Ensure DSE compliance and support workstation assessments.
  • Manage hardware refresh programmes with minimal disruption.
  • Oversee secure and compliant disposal and recycling of end-of-life equipment.
  • Lead IT support across Europe, working closely with the UK team.
  • Monitor SLAs, KPIs, and user satisfaction.
  • Ensure consistent ITSM processes, ticket management, and reporting.
  • Support effective incident, problem, and change management.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including equipment provisioning and retrieval.
  • Work with Engineering and Product to reproduce issues and support resolution.
  • Track escalations through to resolution and keep users informed.
  • Share insights on recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures that enable growth.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
  • Recommend and implement tools that improve productivity, security, and user experience.
  • Contribute to IT budget planning for Europe, including forecasting and cost analysis.
  • Manage relationships with local vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure value for money.
  • Coordinate timely procurement of hardware and services.
  • Partner with European site leaders to understand needs and align IT services.
  • Communicate IT initiatives, changes, and performance clearly.
  • Report regularly to the Head of IT on operations, assets, risks, and opportunities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 3+ years’ experience leading IT operations, infrastructure, and support teams, ideally across multiple sites or countries.
  • Strong knowledge of networks, servers, cloud services, operating systems, and end-user computing.
  • Hands-on experience monitoring and managing infrastructure for high availability and performance.
  • Proven experience implementing IT security controls, backup, and recovery processes.
  • Experience with IT asset management and full lifecycle ownership.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, and endpoint management / MDM solutions.
  • Understanding of IT security frameworks, GDPR, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience contributing to budgets, vendor management, and contracts.
  • Knowledge of ITSM processes and service delivery best practices.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including mentoring and team development.
  • Clear, confident communication skills with users, vendors, and UK-based colleagues.
  • Fluent English; additional European languages are a bonus.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe and to the UK, and to provide out-of-hours support when required.
