The Site Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the construction site and maintaining control over the short-term schedule. This position is essential to ensuring that work proceeds efficiently, safely, and in line with project specifications and regulations.
The project involves the construction of a state-of-the-art cold storage and freezing facility in Urk, the Netherlands, with a total value of approximately €40 million. As such, the Site Manager will be working in an international and technically demanding environment, with high standards for quality, safety, and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily on-site activities, ensuring alignment with project plans and timelines.
- Enforce safety regulations and promote a culture of health and safety among all workers and subcontractors.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades to ensure smooth workflow and avoid delays.
- Conduct regular quality control inspections and ensure compliance with technical specifications, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Assist in identifying and resolving construction issues as they arise.
- Provide accurate and timely updates to the project team, including reporting progress, risks, and deviations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional construction site.
- Liaise with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient project execution.
