Investment Banking Associate - Corporate Advisory

The Corporate Advisory team plays a pivotal role in Van Lanschot Kempen’s strategy fostering the collaboration between Private Banking and Investment Banking to provide clients with a full suite of corporate finance advisory services.

The main activities of the Corporate Advisory team are M&A advice, in particular sell-side transactions, as well as public M&A (i.e. Executing delistings). Our clients are mainly private clients across a wide variety of sectors in the Benelux region, comprising mostly family and director-owned companies and family offices, and are generally clients of Van Lanschot Kempen Private Banking. Furthermore, institutional parties and (international) investors are among our client base as well.

An important element of our success is our independent position as an advisor. Our broad knowledge and international experience and network allow us to provide our clients with relevant, added value, while striving to exceed their expectations. Since 2019, we have completed 210 deals with a total value of more than €55 billion.

That is what you will use your talents for as an Investment Banking Associate – Corporate Advisory at Van Lanschot Kempen.

You also have the following tasks:

• Coordinating workflows (including valuations and due diligence) and the overall project management of transactions;
• Preparing origination and transaction-related analyses and materials (informative memos, management presentations, financial models, etc.);
• Taking responsibility for managing and training analysts and trainees;
• Identifying and pitching for new mandates/projects;
• Interacting with and managing internal (across Van Lanschot Kempen) and external stakeholders (clients, external advisers, etc.).

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in M&A execution, ideally in a wide range of industry sectors, such as consumer goods, TMT, industrials, business services, etc.;
• Adept at financial modeling and preparing presentations;
• A conceptual thinker with an inquiring mind, empathic, and with strong communication skills;
• Good mastery of English and Dutch, both oral and written, given our Benelux clientele.
