Job/Position Summary:
As a Performance Lead Engineer, you will oversee engine integration activities for one or more of our engine and aftertreatment development projects. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your technical expertise and leadership skills to drive the successful execution of complex projects within a global OEM organization based in Eindhoven. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across global locations, including North America, and interacting closely with key stakeholders such as Embedded Engineering, Production Engineering, After Sales, and Compliance teams.
You will report to the Engineering Manager, Engine Integration Development, while working closely with engine integration groups and project core teams to ensure project goals are met efficiently and effectively.
Your responsibilities:
- Prioritize, plan, and coordinate definition, simulation, and testing activities for all groups within the Engine Integration department in collaboration with respective supervisors and lead engineers.
- Initiate and lead performance status monitoring efforts, focusing on key performance indicators such as fuel economy, emissions, durability, reliability, and diagnostic robustness for your assigned projects.
- Analyze, summarize, and present test and simulation results to project management and other key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity in reporting.
- Collaborate with Global Engine Development teams in Eindhoven and North America, alongside other internal departments, to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with performance and regulatory standards.
- Take ownership of your project, ensuring key performance goals are met while balancing technical constraints, timeline objectives, and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve engine and aftertreatment systems, applying insights to enhance fuel efficiency, emissions compliance, and overall system performance across applications.
Your profile:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a project lead engineering role, preferably within engine or aftertreatment development.
- Solid understanding of engine integration, aftertreatment systems, and on-board diagnostics (OBD). Experience with simulation tools and data analysis software is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to effectively present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, bringing together diverse perspectives and fostering collaboration. Proven leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams towards common goals.
- Strong analytical skills with the capacity to evaluate data from multiple sources, assess impacts, and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to identify project strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and implement solutions that drive performance improvements.
