As Executive Director within Corporate Banking Clients (CBC), you will be part of the Capital Structuring & Debt Advisory team and report to the Head of Capital Structuring & Debt Advisory (CSDA).
The Debt Advisory team, part of Capital Structuring & Debt Advisory (CSDA), operates within Corporate Banking Clients (CBC) and specializes in providing independent and strategic advice on capital structures and tailored debt raising solutions. The team advises clients on complex and high-profile debt transactions, offering guidance to corporates and sponsors across various industries, with a particular focus on renewable energy, mobility, digital infrastructure, and transition finance opportunities.
Leveraging deep sector expertise and strong relationships with banks, institutional investors, and alternative capital providers, the team delivers innovative financing solutions to optimize capital structures and support business growth. Collaboration is integral to success, with frequent interaction across internal teams such as our sector teams (Sector Advisors and Sector Bankers), M&A, as well as Syndications, DCM, Project Finance, and Leveraged Finance, ensuring tailored and effective solutions for clients.
Debt Advisory is part of the Capital Structuring & Debt Advisory team, comprising 10 FTEs primarily located in Amsterdam, supporting ABN AMRO's European franchise across all chosen client segments of CBC.
Your job- Provide strategic leadership for the Debt Advisory team, setting the vision and priorities to drive growth, innovation, and market presence;
- Drive origination efforts, structuring, and execution of large-scale and complex debt transactions, including capital raising, refinancing, and restructuring mandates;
- Maintain key relationships with clients and sponsors, establishing and maintaining trusted, long-term partnerships;
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to grow the debt advisory business, particularly in targeted sectors such as energy, mobility, and digital infrastructure;
- Serve as a sparring partner for senior leadership on strategic topics, including business growth, sustainability-linked financing, and transition finance;
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and risk appetite while executing mandates;
- Coach and mentor team members, fostering talent development, collaboration, and an inclusive culture aligned with the “One-bank” approach;
- Represent ABN AMRO as a leading advisor in transition and infrastructure finance at industry events, conferences, and forums.
- Provide strategic advice to clients; act as a trusted advisor;
- Steer the strategic direction of the Debt Advisory practice to position ABN AMRO as a leading advisor in transition and infrastructure finance;
- Driving origination, and ensuring seamless execution of complex mandates;
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives and deliver impactful tailored financing strategies;
- Accelerate sustainability-linked financing initiatives, supporting ABN AMRO’s commitment to banking for better, for generations to come.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and anticipate client needs.

Hard Skills:
