We are looking for a Sales Manager, Shaft Line Solution
to take the lead in commercial and naval marine business for the Shaft Line Solutions (SLS) portfolio across The Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The preferred location is Schiedam, Netherlands, with Drunen or another Dutch location also possible. Hybrid and remote work options are available.
As Sales Manager, you’ll drive sales, grow market share, and contribute to the success of the Western Europe team. Your performance will be measured by order intake, net sales, profitability, and KPIs set by the Regional Manager and SLS Management.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Proactive customer interfacing to generate leads and sales opportunities.
- Increase market share of SLS portfolio.
- Manage opportunity pipeline and customer visits in CRM.
- Update and follow up feedback from customers in The Netherlands, Belgium & Luxemburg.
- Build and develop customer relationships in The Netherlands, Belgium & Luxemburg with ship owners, ship managers, ship designers, shipyards, OEM's, Navy and marine agencies.
- Actively engage with other (global) functions and team members to capture opportunities.
- Ensure quality of contracts are in line with Wärtsilä policies.
- Customer communication and support for running projects in cooperation with Sales Support Team.
- Business intelligence and knowledge of the Region.
- To grow New build, Spare Parts sales, upgrades & retrofits for all Wartsila SLS portfolio.
- In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 40-50%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
Qualifications:

Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Sales with technical understanding, or at least 5 years’ relevant work experience. Previous direct sales experience in the Marine Industry is an advantage.

Deep knowledge of the Marine Industry and Wärtsilä products (preferably SLS products or propulsion systems).

Proven track record in building strong customer relationships that enhance customer experience.

Demonstrable experience in sales negotiation.

Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.

Willingness to travel internationally on a frequent basis.

Fluent in English and Dutch (verbal and written); French is a plus.
