Due to growth and further professionalisation of our technical environment, we are looking for a System Engineer who is willing to take responsibility, enjoys working in a compact team and thrives in an environment where performance and stability are key.
Your role
In this role, you ensure the stability, security and scalability of our entire technical infrastructure. You are a key player in meeting the strictest requirements in the sector, such as DORA, MiFID II and other financial regulations. You work closely with our trading and development teams, switch effortlessly between analysis and execution, and see the impact of your work directly. Thanks to your contribution, our high-performance trading environment continues to run optimally.
Your job
- Managing, optimising and expanding our Microsoft environment (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange/365).
- Implementing new Microsoft solutions and integrating them into our existing systems.
- Performing network management, including configuration and monitoring of routers, switches, VLANs, firewalls and interfaces (mainly Cisco and Arista).
- Managing hardware: servers, storage, workstations and preventive maintenance.
- Proactively monitoring, analysing and resolving technical incidents.
- Preparing technical documentation and contributing to a clear, future-proof framework.
- Working closely with development and trading to translate technical requirements into stable, scalable solutions.
- Liaising with exchanges to set up new connections, sessions and market data feeds.
What do we expect from you?
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, AD, GPO, PowerShell).
- In-depth knowledge of Windows OS, including troubleshooting and system structures.
- Basic knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu/Debian, bash, package management).
- Practical networking knowledge: IP, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, VPN, firewall rules.
- Experience with hardware: server builds, RAID, BIOS/UEFI and remote management tools.
- An analytical, structured and pragmatic working style with a hands-on mentality.
- Good command of English; Dutch is a plus.
- Bachelor-level (HBO) / Vocational (MBO) background or equivalent level through demonstrable practical experience.
