Investment Associate Sustainable Impact Fund

As Investment Associate, you’ll be assisting the team providing growth-capital to high-growth maturing sustainable companies, domiciled in North-western Europe. You will be part of the Sustainable Impact Fund and responsible for assessing new leads, evaluating business strategies, preparing financial models and valuations, leading due diligence and focus on portfolio management, together with an investment manager.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in sourcing leads, within the geographic focus of SIF (North-Western Europe)
• Performing market research and reaching out to interesting investment opportunities
• Analysing investment opportunities, evaluating technical and financial aspects
• Assisting in transactions, leading due diligence, preparing business analyses, financial models and valuations
• Assisting in impact assessment and measurement
• Assisting in portfolio management
• Building a network of target companies, co-investors and advisors within the strategic focus of SIF, and
• Attending events and further building on the SIF brand awareness and recognition

You will report to Tanja Kramer, Head of SIF.

The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for sustainability and investing in an international environment, in particular impact investing. He/she has a university degree experience in a relevant field.

• Between 2 to 4 years relevant work experience in venture capital, private equity, corporate venturing, investment banking and / or entrepreneurial experience
• Experience and expertise within Energy Transition is a must
• Well-developed financial modelling and valuation skills, analytical and structured thinker
• Intrinsic motivation to tackle global challenges by investing impactful companies
• Team player with strong communication skills and naturally connects with others
• Entrepreneurial and creative way‑of‑working and open‑minded to innovative ideas and trends

SIF is part of Corporate Investments, ABN AMRO's expertise centre for equity and near-equity investments. It consists of three teams of approximately 30 people focused on initiating, structuring, managing and providing investments through the Sustainable Impact Fund, Fund Investments, Specialised Finance and direct lending through Hybrid Capital and Subordinated Debt.
