Job description

As a Cost Engineer at NTS Hengelo, you start with a cup of coffee and an inbox full of numbers and assumptions that are not yet complete. Exactly what gives you energy. You puzzle, structure, and calculate until there is a sales price that is correct and defensible. Because when your name is on it, your colleagues are sure it's right. You effortlessly switch between Excel, CAM processes, and stakeholders. Sales is in a hurry, engineering comes with exceptions, procurement has an opinion, and the customer sticks to a tough target. You remain calm and results‑oriented and provide a story behind the numbers. You actively seek collaboration. You call a customer about a cost breakdown or gather missing input internally. You are the intersection between technology, commerce, and realism. At the end of the day, you update the cost monitor and roadmap. You are not only working on today but mainly on structural improvement. And if there is an impossible question again? Then you open a new tab and just get back to work.

Your responsibilities also include:

• Preparing and structuring cost price calculations
• Coordinating with Sales, Engineering, and Procurement for input
• Challenging customer targets and cost breakdowns
• Identifying and implementing cost reductions
• Maintaining the cost monitor and roadmap

Requirements

• You take ownership, work accurately, and stand behind what you deliver
• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical or business administration field
• You are proficient in Excel and feel comfortable with data and numbers
• You communicate easily, speak both Dutch and English, and interact smoothly with stakeholders
• You combine commercial insight with technical understanding and dare to challenge assumptions

• Salary from €3,850 to €5,000 gross per month based on 40 hours
• 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days
• Travel allowance of €0.21 per km up to a max. Of 50 km one way
