Data Center Operations Director

Our client is seeking an Operations Director to lead multi-site data center operations across Northern Europe with a focus on safety, efficiency, and excellence.

Our client is a dynamic data center platform serving the evolving needs of AI, hybrid cloud, and mission-critical digital services. Formed through recent strategic acquisitions across the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden, they are united by strong values, high-performance infrastructure, and a commitment to operational maturity.

As Operations Director, you will serve as the right hand to the COO, playing a central role in driving safe, efficient, and standardized operations across all data center locations. This role is equal parts strategic leadership and hands‑on execution, and it requires a seasoned professional who thrives in complex, multi‑country environments.

You will lead and harmonize operational processes, oversee local teams, and implement group-wide standards to ensure consistency and excellence. The scope includes everything from uptime performance and capacity planning to safety compliance, sustainability efforts, and infrastructure maintenance. You will also be instrumental in supporting new site developments and integrating facilities as the company expands.

• 10+ years of experience in data center or mission‑critical operations with multi‑site oversight
• Strong technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems
• Proven track record in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) compliance and leadership
• Experience managing vendors, contractors, and operational budgets (CapEx and OpEx)
• Effective cross‑functional leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Dutch, Swedish, or Danish is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft 365
• Willing and able to travel regularly within Europe
