We are looking for an experienced Data Steward for a temporary freelance assignment within the IT Data domain of the CIO Data Analytics Platform (CIO DAP) at Group IT/CIO Office
What you are going to do
As a key player in ensuring data quality, integrity, and usability, you will act as the knowledge expert and liaison between data governance and business stakeholders. As a Data Steward, you play a key role in ensuring robust data governance across the IT Data domain, including CIO DAP. You ensure that data and processes meet the needs of Data Users, comply with NN policies, and adhere to legal and regulatory requirements. In this role, you serve as the single point of contact for all data-related matters, supporting both internal stakeholders and external partners.
You are responsible for managing data quality by identifying, logging, reporting, and prioritizing data quality issues. You keep stakeholders informed and collaborate with Data Custodians to implement and monitor data quality controls. When risks arise, you proactively initiate preventive measures and address root causes to ensure long-term solutions.
Additionally, you manage metadata and data products using platforms such as Collibra and/or Databricks Unity Catalogue. You are responsible for developing and maintaining the Business Glossary, Data Directories, and Data Delivery Agreements, ensuring clarity and consistency in data usage across the organization.
You enable data users to work in a more data-driven way by providing access to relevant data, actionable insights, and guidance on the effective use of IT data. You also act as an ambassador for the organization's transition towards becoming a data-driven company.

Who you are
- You have a thorough understanding of IT as a business to be able to align with the many stakeholders and their respective interest in data about our IT landscape and its usage
- You are a data enthusiast, who is passionate about data usage and data quality. You have a strong analytical mind, and you can translate data issues into clear and actionable solutions or actions
- You are a proactive and collaborative team player, who can communicate effectively with various stakeholders and influence them positively. You are organized and like working with various stakeholders
Furthermore, you have:
- A relevant academic degree, with a focus on Data Science, Data Management, Business Analytics, or a related field
- Preferably experience in data governance, data quality and data management
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, methodologies and best practices, such as DAMA-DMBOK
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, knowledge of Dutch
- Knowledge of the IT4IT Reference Architecture of The Open Group
- Knowledge of Collibra and PowerBI
