Are you an experienced HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, international manufacturing environment? Solmax – a global leader in sustainable solutions for civil and environmental infrastructure – is looking for an HR Manager for its Hengelo site.
Your role
As a fulltime HR Manager, you are responsible for the full HR policy at the location. You will work closely with the local management team (Plant Manager and Controller) as well as the international HR team within EMEA. (Strong English communication skills are essential.) You combine strategic insight with hands-on execution and contribute to a positive, safe, and future-oriented work environment.
Your responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives
- Recruitment & selection, performance management, learning & development, absence management, and compensation & benefits
- Managing relationships with the Works Council and trade unions
- Leading an HR colleague (responsible for personnel administration & payroll)
- Actively contributing to international HR projects and harmonization initiatives
- Promoting employee engagement and satisfaction
- Ensuring compliance with legislation and internal guidelines
- Preparing HR reports and analyses

- Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HRM, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in a broad HR role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Dutch labor legislation and experience with employee representation
- A proactive, independent, and solution-oriented mindset
