This is a short-term assignment until March 2026.
NN is transitioning from Oracle Java to open-source Java to mitigate licensing liabilities starting in 2026. We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Java specialist to support the migration of our Oracle Java-dependent applications. This assignment focuses on troubleshooting and ensuring smooth migration across both server and client endpoints (Windows 11).
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Windows 11 and Windows Server environments, advanced troubleshooting skills, and a solid understanding of Java runtime behavior and JDK distributions. Familiarity with application vendor coordination is essential.
What you are going to do
- You will assist with all technical aspects of replacing Oracle Java with OpenJDK on both Windows 11 and Windows Server platforms
- You will assist the business with testing, troubleshooting, and migrating their Oracle Java-dependent applications to open-source Java
- You will liaise with application vendors on technical aspects of the Oracle Java to OpenJDK migration as needed
- You will support the business by facilitating testing and deployment processes for their Oracle Java-dependent applications on Windows clients and servers

Who you will work with
You will work closely with various teams in Digital WorkPlace; The Endpoint and Application Management team, and the Packaging teams. You will also work with many application owners in the whole of NN helping them in the migration process.
