For this role we believe you have minimum 10 years of experience in PR, Activity and events or similar and delivering results as well as minimum 5 years of experience in leading and influencing co-workers. You also have experience from retail, preferably home furnishing sector, as well as experience in planning, driving output and measuring performance (business).
You have broad knowledge of IKEA concept, brand objectives, values and vision as well as IKEA tools, processes and year cycles as well as IKEA business plan and business planning process as well as operational plans and goals including follow up on KPIs. Further, you have broad knowledge of the IKEA multichannel reality and online customer behaviours as well as of project management as well as of PR campaigns and event coordination. Also, you have deep knowledge about design principles related to space design, solution design and experience design as well as about Creative Processes and Creative Directions. You possess good knowledge of change management methods and tools as well as stakeholder management.
You have ability to understand the complexity of IKEA business and the role of Commercial activity and events as an integrated part of the business. You have good leadership capabilities including ability to lead peers and stakeholders while communicating in an inspirational way with IKEA tone of voice. In addition, you have ability to take a holistic view of a country organisation and identify business opportunities accordingly as well as ability to prioritise and make decisions with speed and simplicity as well as ability to follow up and measure performance of output and capture learnings to improve planning and performance moving forward.
What you'll be doing day to day
In the role as Country Commercial Activity & Events Leader, you are responsible for leading and mobilizing Home Furnishing & Retail Design (HF&RD) co-workers in global and local Home Furnishing events as well as for collaborating across the Commercial functions to develop and drive the Commercial Calendar and associated activities.
You will:
• Be responsible for securing HF&RD objectives in the Commercial plan & Commercial Calendar by working together with other functions to secure alignment (e.g. Selling Commercial Activity Leader & Online Commercial Planner) through the Commercial Calendar team
• Be responsible for leading HF&RD specific activities from the Commercial Calendar and mobilizing HF&RD Co-workers in said activities where needed
• Be responsible for leading the planning and designing or applying the overall concept and look for internal and external initiatives such as events, PR campaigns, product and concept launches etc, both locally and globally sourced initiatives
• Evaluate the performance of HF&RD related activities and events during and after execution in order to identify improvement areas
• Contribute to the development of Commercial Calendar through providing overall plan for local events and HF&RD (Home Furnishing & Retail Design) specific Commercial Activities
• Contribute with supporting Shop Design activities when needed
• Contribute to improvement of the Customer Experience through home furnishing expertise and inspiration
• Act as a member of the HF&RD team and proactively contribute to HF&RD plan/output in order to deliver to the common objectives and goals
• Actively cooperate with all key stakeholders within commercial and beyond to secure integration, common focus and to maximize impact (for example Digital, CFF (Customer Fulfilment), Communications, Sustainability, BNOF (Business Navigation Operations & Finance), People & Culture)
• Contribute to the integrated multichannel executions/output of the function in order to contribute to the business goals
• Contribute with measuring performance of output in own areas to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, and to ensure performance excellence throughout the year
• Be an active player in driving an open and sharing climate, be a role model of the IKEA values and contribute to the transformation of IKEA
