Suus Plesman, wife of KLM founder Albert Plesman, quietly shaped history through hospitality. In the 1930s, as tensions rose between Albert and his pilots, Suus had a simple idea: invite everyone to the table for a home-cooked meal and a glass of wine, with one rule: no one leaves until peace is made. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Junior Sous-Chef to join our team and take ownership of our brand-new kitchen. Working closely under our Executive Chef, Kyan van Bommel, and the chef the cuisine you’ll lead the daily operations of Suus in the absence of the chef de cuisine and are mainly responsible for the banqueting kitchen of De Plesman. Together, we aim to bring the culinary standard of Suus to the highest level and crafting a dining experience that is both refined and deeply memorable.
What you’ll be doing
Support and supervise daily kitchen operations alongside the Chef de Cuisine.
Step in as kitchen leader during their absence, maintaining consistency and service quality.
Oversee and execute all banqueting for De Plesman.
Mentor junior kitchen staff and help foster a strong, collaborative kitchen team
Uphold HACCP standards and contribute to a clean, efficient working environment.
Who you are
A skilled and experienced chef with proven leadership in a professional kitchen.

Driven to consistently raise the culinary bar, while remaining grounded in genuine hospitality.
Calm under pressure, structured, and a strong communicator.
Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong plus.
