Lead the heart of Odido's digital operations as Manager IT SRE Operations-where your telecom expertise, strategic mindset, and people-first leadership ensure our most critical systems deliver exceptional service, every single day.This is what you will do

As Manager IT SRE Operations, you will lead the strategy, development, and operational excellence of our most business-critical IT systems. From BSS and OSS to our digital customer platforms, you ensure that everything runs like clockwork-secure, scalable, and always aligned with our business goals.

You'll translate our digital ambitions into action, partnering with tech, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful, high-performance solutions. With your strategic mindset, architectural oversight, and hands-on leadership, you drive our service reliability forward and set the standard for operational excellence in a fast-moving telecom environment.

And speaking of telecom-experience in this sector isn't just nice to have, it's essential. Without a solid understanding of the telecom landscape, we simply cannot consider you for this role. You need to know how this industry operates, where the pressure points are, and how to act fast when it matters most.

Your core responsibilities:

IT Application & Infrastructure Operations

  • Lead end-to-end operations of IT infrastructure supporting mobile and broadband services, including OSS/BSS, Cloud platforms, CRM, billing, and self-care portals.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability, performance, and security of mission-critical telecom systems and services.
  • Own and manage SLAs for incident response, change management, and service delivery using ITIL and SRE principles. This including E2E management of KPI Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Uptime and performance of business-critical applications

Time-to-market for new feature rollouts or systems

Customer and stakeholder satisfaction scores

Cost efficiency and ROI on IT investments

Security and compliance audit results

Strategic Leadership:

  • Define and drive the IT application roadmap in alignment with business strategy and telecom industry trends.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for innovation and digital enablement.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve service delivery and customer experience.

Business Alignment based WOW

  • Define and manage the IT application strategy aligned with business goals, telecom product roadmaps, and customer experience targets.
  • Partner with business units (sales, marketing, network, customer care, finance) to identify system needs and enable digital capabilities across the organization.
  • Evaluate business requirements to recommend scalable, cost-effective IT solutions in BSS/OSS and enterprise systems

Application Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of enterprise applications including BSS (CRM, Billing, Order Management), OSS (Network Management, Service Provisioning), ERP, and customer-facing digital platforms (apps/web portals).
  • Drive modernization of legacy systems and integration of new solutions (e.g., cloud-native applications, microservices architecture, APIs).

Project and Program Delivery:

  • Manage multiple cross-functional projects with complex interdependencies and high business impact.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and budget, while meeting quality standards.

AI & GenAI Integration

  • Leverage AI/ML and Generative AI for:
    • Predictive network monitoring and issue resolution.
    • Smart ticketing systems and intelligent routing.
    • Customer support bots, anomaly detection, and real-time analytics.
  • Collaborate with data teams to integrate AI solutions into operational workflows and service support.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Network Engineering, Customer Experience, and Business Ops to align IT services with strategic goals.
  • Translate complex technical issues into clear business communication for leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Regularly present KPIs, operational updates, and improvement plans to executive leadership.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage third-party vendors including infrastructure providers, SOC partners, cloud platforms, and AI service vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage escalations, and ensure compliance with performance agreements.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and technical evaluations of vendor-delivered services.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing cross-functional teams including solution architects, project managers, product owners, developers, and analysts.
  • Establish clear objectives, provide coaching and feedback, and support career development plans.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer-centric thinking

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure 24x7 availability, scalability, and resilience of key applications through robust monitoring, incident management, and capacity planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement and IT service management (ITSM) best practices.
  • Establish and track KPIs for application uptime, response times, defect rates, and incident resolution.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Budget Manager- Manage the IT operations budget, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, optimizing costs, and ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals.
  • People Manager - Managing 5-10 IT Applications Managers (people & technical management)
  • Manage and lead IT Audit - Support compliance with regulatory and telecom industry standards (e.g., TRAI, GDPR, ISO 27001).
  • Managing and leading Service NPS, coordinate for uplift with internal and external business stakeholders including suppliers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Oversee and enhance incident-response processes, ensuring lessons learned translate into structural improvements.
  • Manage and Own to lead the required enhancements to the IT architecture and processes, ensuring lessons learned translate into improvements with respect to service reliability, scalability, efficiency and customer experience.
  • Design and implement proactive monitoring strategies using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Act as the bridge and advisor between technology and people, making sure both IT stakeholders and Business stakeholders understand each other and are convinced of each other's interests.
  • Management Reporting - Prepare reports, metrics, and KPIs for senior management on IT operations, service performance, and budget utilization
  • Advocate for IT Operational principles, mentoring IT Application managers.

Must-Have Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related discipline.
  • 12-15 years of experience in IT operations or SRE roles, with at least 9 years in a managerial capacity within telecom (mobile/broadband).
  • Deep technical knowledge in networking (LTE, 5G, GPON), VoIP/IMS, cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), and automation tools.
  • Strong experience in SRE principles, including SLO/SLI design, monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), and incident response.
  • Hands-on with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • Experience integrating AI/ML and GenAI into support and operations workflows.
  • Proficient in ITIL service management and operations frameworks.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn/speak Dutch within due course of time!

Preferred Certifications

  • ITIL Foundation/Practitioner
  • SRE Certification (Google SRE, DevOps Institute, etc.)
  • Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • AI/ML or Data Engineering certifications (e.g., Coursera, Microsoft, Google Cloud AI)
  • PMP or Agile/Scrum Certification
