Zaan Hotel Amsterdam Zaandam is looking for a Front Office Agent (Part-Time / Full-Time)


What do you do as a receptionist? Handling check-in and check-out is a key task. But even more importantly, you ensure our guests feel at home and inform them about the best hotspots in Zaandam. You enjoy listening to their experiences upon their return. Administrative tasks are also part of your responsibilities, as are resolving and preventing complaints, because you are, after all, the one who pampers our guests.


As a front office employee, you are the face of the hotel and are responsible for the following tasks, among others:


* You are responsible for the check-in and check-out in a professional, pleasant and efficient way.

* Receiving guests and showing them around the hotel and the surrounding area.

* Preparing invoices and arranging payments.

* Accepting and making reservations.

* Handling and following up on any complaints.

* Correctly handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls and e-mail traffic.

* Other administrative tasks.


Who is our new colleague? You are naturally flexible and enthusiastic with relevant experience. You easily work independently, take initiative, and are always service-oriented towards guests. Furthermore, our new colleague has a presentable appearance and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


* You have knowledge of at least Dutch and English and preferably a third foreign language.

* Knowledge of MEWS Hotel Reservation System is an advantage.

* You have a fresh appearance, and you are presentable.

* You are stress-resistant and can switch easily between quiet and busy shifts.

* You are customer-oriented; you want to provide optimal service, sometimes this requires customization.

* You have a sense of responsibility, are alert and have a (pro-)active attitude.


A welcoming attitude is essential for this role. You know what's a priority and can adapt quickly. You're a team player and can communicate clearly with guests, as well as colleagues from various departments. You enjoy your work, and this radiates throughout your shift.
