We are looking for a data steward. You will be working for the Security, Safety and Environment Schiphol business domain. The various business domains of Schiphol are taking exciting steps, with your help, to become even more data-driven and put data at the heart of every key decision. • Enforce data policies for the data products in scope. This includes activities like: Identifying critical data elements, monitoring data quality, and analyzing deviations to find the root cause.
• Negotiating and implementing Data Delivery Agreements for data sources.
• Ensuring data privacy and data protection policies and implementation.
• Managing metadata and its relationships in the Enterprise Data Catalog and Business Vocabulary.
• Roll out data literacy training & education for data owners within your scope.
• Develop practical tools & processes to execute the existing data policies.

About the team
With the help of data, we can organize our daily processes smarter, more efficiently and more effectively. This journey is not without challenges: the quality and availability of data are critical for success, data issues must be resolved smoothly, and privacy and ethics must be always guaranteed.
As Data Steward, you are a subject matter expert in one of the Schiphol business domains. You take responsibility for metadata curation, data quality requirements, data issue analysis and resolution, and data quality improvement within that business domain together with the business and data domain consultant to whom you will report. You support data owners and data consumers with your knowledge and advice. Moreover, you contribute to furthering the maturity of data management & governance within the Schiphol, in line with the data strategy and goals. Next to the Data & Analytics department you will work for the Security, Safety & Environment business domain. For the Security, Safety & Environment domain, your work contributes to creating a safe, secure and healthy environment for passengers, employees and partners by adhering to regulations, implementing preventive measures, and managing crises effectively. Moreover, your work will play a crucial role in controlling all people and goods on our premises, managing security operations 24/7 in a dynamic environment. The Safety and Security departments take actions and make decisions based on our data products on a daily basis; hence your work ensures that the insights can be trusted for these purposes.

In this role, you should have strong analytical insight, communication skills and be well-organized. Other than that, you have:
•
• Higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) education level, preferably in data science, business administration, or data/information management.
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role (e.g., data steward, data analyst).
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Knowledge of data management principles (such as DAMA-DMBOK) and data management tools (e.g., Collibra).
• Experience in developing and delivering training sessions.
• Must possess a 'Verklaring Geen Bezwaar' (VGB-Burgerluchtvaart) at the start of the assignment.
• Knowledge of Azure and Databricks is a plus.
