Our client is active in engineering, manufacturing and servicing of heavy construction installations for renewable energy, oil & gas, civil works and maritime markets. For their location in Schiedam we are searching for a HSE Lead.
Functieomschrijving
As HSE Coordinator you will develop the Health, Safety and Environment policy and foster sustainable and safe business operations. You will be responsible for the implementation of HSE policy as part of the corporate strategy and in accordance with legislation, regulations and standards. You are responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining health, safety and environmental processes, programmes and procedures to guarantee a safe and compliant working environment. You promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness within the organisation. You manage a team of 2 HSE Officers and report to the HSE Manager Europe and the chair of the MT in the Netherlands.You are responsible for:
- You maintain and manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers to ensure that they always meet their statutory obligations and that their suppliers meet the highest HSE standards.
- You develop and implement risk management programmes, identify potential hazards and evaluate risks in order to effectively manage and mitigate them.
- You manage and investigate incidents, accidents and near misses to identify root causes and prevent future incidents.
- As the officer responsible for the HSE department, you coach your team, draw up personal training plans and ensure optimal staffing.
- You supervise audits and provide instructions to employees and contractors on safety procedures.
- You report to management on the status of the HSE management system (ISO45001) and support them in implementing improvements, for example in the area of personal protective equipment.
- You support projects by drawing up HSE plans and carrying out workplace inspections.
- You are responsible for organising and developing the company emergency response (BHV).
Functie eisen
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (HVK, MoSHE, NSPOH, A&O expert)
- 5–7 years of HSE experience in a similar organization, with 1–3 years in a management or coordinating role
- Proven experience in HSE policy implementation, ISO45001, and safety behavioral change
- Strong advisory, persuasive, and leadership skills
- Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
- An assessment is part of the selection process
