We are looking for a Communications Intern!
Would you like to work in the public sector to help engage the international community, and be part of a unit in the municipality that facilitates internationals in their move to the region through supporting communications?

Wat ga je doen?
As a Communications Intern, you will actively contribute to the implementation of the Centre's communications strategy. From supporting organising events to the development of diverse content together with your colleagues as well as external partners, you will help in the communication of relevant information to the international community in The Hague region. You will also provide support in optimizing registration and our information services for new international students.
Your day-to-day tasks include:
- Identifying and creating content (both written and design) for social media;
- Assisting in the preparation of events (online, live, hybrid);
- Assisting during internal and external events (preparing materials, registration of attendees, answering questions etc.);
- Assisting in updating and the maintenance of The Hague International Centre's website;
- Contribute to daily content creation for our newsletter and website articles;
- Contribute and expand the photo library for THIC Communications;
- Design various communication outputs such as event invitations, presentations, flyers, social media posts and partner cards.
Wat vragen wij?
- You are creative and energetic, and you are interested in the field of communications, marketing, PR and events;
- You are both a thinker and a doer, a result-orientated proactive self-starter with excellent communication skills;
- You are eager to learn, open to feedback and always looking for opportunities to improve;
- You are outgoing and comfortable interacting with attendees during our events;
- You have strong knowledge and experience in graphic design and familiar with software such as Adobe Indesign and Canva;
- You are fluent in English (C2 to native level) and Dutch (A2/B1 level). Knowledge of the Dutch culture and habits is highly appreciated.
- You are officially enrolled in University/College.
Wat bieden wij?
Duration: 5-7 months, starting January 2025
Remuneration:
HBO-students and WO-students: €652 (gross) per month (based on 36-hours a week)

The Hague International Centre is the point of contact for all international newcomers in The Hague and region including Delft, Leidschendam-Voorburg, and Rijswijk. We offer information and guidance about living and working in The Hague region and we support international newcomers and employers to make them feel welcome in our region. We also take care of formalities such as municipal registration, citizen service number (BSN), and issuance of residence permits. We do this in close collaboration with our partners ACCESS and the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND).
