As NFR Assurance/ Information Risk Management (IRM) specialist, you contribute to the design, preparation and coordination of programs and projects of the NFR function, to challenge, advise and support the identification, analysis, and mitigation by 1st Line of Defense/business of non-financial risks, raising the NFR awareness throughout ING and checks that the 1st Line of Defense/business is complying with the risk appetite and escalates where necessary.
The Team
As NFR Assurance/ Information Risk Management (IRM) specialist, you will be part of the NFR Assurance virtual team in the NFR BSF & Assurance department. The virtual team is located in Amsterdam and Bucharest and mainly performs quality assurance assignments world-wide on behalf of the global Management Team of Non-Financial Risk (NFR), providing an objective opinion about the quality of non-financial risk management activities in the 1st and 2nd line in ING locations and head office departments.
Working with a variety of internal stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment will offer you a global overview on how ING manages its Information (Technology) risks and the opportunity to support the enhancement of the global NFR control framework. You will report to the Head of NFR BSF & Assurance in Amsterdam.
Roles and responsibilities
The NFR Assurance/ IRM Specialist
You perform quality assurance assignments on (IT) Risk Management activities worldwide;
You participate in designated projects, developments, or business initiatives, advising on information risks, like IT Risk & Control Automation;
You assist in delivering and facilitating NFR's educational services;
You perform and assist in other non-financial risk management activities where the need arises, for instance assisting with the development of (IT) Risk Tooling, the development and interpretation of IT Risk governance documents and Second Line Monitoring in IT Generic Key Control/SOX Testing processes.

As a NFR Assurance/ IRM Specialist you have the following traits and experience:
University BSc Degree or equivalent, preferably in IT field;
4 - 8 years' experience in IT Audit or IT Risk Management;
Knowledge of and experience with IT Audit assignments, IT Control Assessments, or IT Risk Assessments;
Collaboration skills and ability to work across both functional and geographical lines;
Pro-activeness and persuasiveness;
Good analytical skills and sound judgment;
Fluent in English (written and spoken);
Travelling up to 10%
Would be considered a plus:
A professional education and an international certification for Information (Technology) /Risk Management (e.g., ISC2, ISACA accreditations);
Knowledge of Banking business, processes, procedures, systems, and associated laws & regulations;
Knowledge and experience in one or more IT Security areas.
