The Role
As a Senior Solution Architect, you will leverage your deep expertise in engineering, manufacturing, design, and quality to define, guide, and implement complex solutions across IT, process, and organizational transformation initiatives. You will act as a strategic technical leader, working hands-on to architect scalable and practical solutions that meet client objectives and integrate seamlessly within their operational frameworks.
You bring a strong record of success delivering enterprise-level solutions and leading cross-functional teams through ambiguity to successful outcomes. Beyond technical proficiency, you possess excellent communication skills, capable of translating business needs into actionable architecture and guiding stakeholders across engineering, IT, and operations. You will provide mentorship, support cross-department collaboration, and help ensure solutions are adopted effectively across the organization.
We value professionals who are analytical, detail-oriented, and adaptable—comfortable balancing multiple concurrent initiatives while aligning with both internal standards and client-specific protocols. Experience managing both internal and external (contracted) delivery teams is essential.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with stakeholders to define solution architecture aligned to business goals and enterprise standards
- Owns end-to-end solution design across systems, processes, and data—ensuring scalability, usability, and performance
- Translates complex business requirements into technical specifications and actionable architecture
- Leads cross-functional teams through solution planning, prototyping, validation, and deployment
- Supports pre-sales and business development efforts by designing solution concepts and contributing to proposals and RFPs
- Evaluates existing systems and identifies opportunities for modernization, harmonization, and innovation
- Defines architecture standards, best practices, and governance processes
- Partners with project managers to ensure solution delivery remains on scope, on time, and on budget
- Mentors teams on architectural approaches, system integration, and process design
- Proactively identifies and mitigates technical and organizational risks during project lifecycle
- Monitors solution performance and establishes KPIs for measuring adoption, usability, and ROI
Qualifications
Education:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, project management, business management, or a related field is preferred
- However, candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience in PLM implementations and project management, especially with Siemens Teamcenter, may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
- A graduate degree is preferred but not required
Experience:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in engineering, product development, or enterprise architecture within the automotive, aerospace, or discrete manufactuing industries
- Deep understanding of how engineering organization’s function across concept, design, release, and industrialization phases, and how those workflows interact with downstream functions like manufacturing, supply chain, and service
- Hands-on experience with EBOM to MBOM transformations, including what data, structure, and governance must be in place within PLM to support downstream ERP, MES, and quality systems
- Proven ability to map and optimize value streams across product development, engineering change, and product launch
- Strong experience with Siemens Teamcenter or equivalent PLM systems—not just usage, but shaping what should be captured, how it supports the business, and where the gaps are
- Able to lead conversations on how to align business strategy and system capability, from product configuration and variant management to change control and traceability
- Comfortable navigating between business process design, enterprise architecture, and solution definition—serving as the bridge between engineering, IT, and operations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of facilitating executive-level discussions and hands-on engineering workshops alike
Preferred Experience:
- Firsthand experience in engineering leadership, product configuration, or manufacturing engineering roles with exposure to enterprise system interactions (PLM, ERP, MES, QMS)
- Siemens Teamcenter architecture or deployment leadership across major functions (Change, BOM, CAD, Part Lifecycle, etc.)
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms like SAP (especially for manufacturing and logistics handovers), Dassault, PTC, or custom-built PLM ecosystems
- Experience defining and deploying engineering standards, templates, and governance structures across global or multi-site product teams
- Exposure to digital thread, systems engineering (MBSE), or design-for-X approaches
- Certifications or training in SAFe, TOGAF, or similar frameworks helpful but not required—real-world experience takes precedence
