Position Overview
The Senior Manager ADAS & Infotainment/Connect leads Porsche Engineering’s U.S. Testing and development activities for market‑specific ADAS and Infotainment systems. This role ensures timely issue resolution across teams, oversees test processes and infrastructure, and coordinates multi‑site teams in Los Angeles and San Jose.
The position also drives U.S. Based ADAS development collaboration with Porsche and VW Group entities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Acting as the primary technical contact for Porsche Engineering North America, the Senior Manager ensures alignment with global development teams at Porsche AG and supports all current and future Porsche models for the North American market.
Roles & Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead strategic development of U.S. ADAS and Infotainment/Connect testing in alignment with Porsche Engineering’s global direction.
- Build and manage multi‑site U.S. Teams for ADAS testing and development.
- Foster close collaboration with Porsche Engineering Germany, Porsche AG, and international partners.
Test & Development Operations
- Oversee test and development activities across San Jose and Los Angeles.
- Ensure availability and maintenance of test infrastructure (e.g., HIL systems, test benches, test vehicles).
- Coordinate commissioning and updates of test systems, vehicle wiring, bus topologies, backend test data, and related configurations.
Process & Performance Management
- Define and implement KPIs to monitor test infrastructure performance and commissioning progress.
- Analyze test requirements and technical specifications to continuously enhance test processes and infrastructure.
- Lead and support test drive, endurance, and quality engineering teams on priority topics.
Team & Stakeholder Coordination
- Guide onboarding of new team members and suppliers.
- Collaborate with international test infrastructure and commissioning teams to share best practices and improve processes.
- Communicate complex technical topics effectively to diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- 10+ years of automotive engineering or related experience, including development and testing of vehicle EE systems.
- 10+ years of experience with automotive systems, architecture, and software.
- 5+ years leading mid‑size to large technical teams.
- Hands‑on experience with ADAS technologies and components.
- Proven success managing multi‑location and cross‑functional teams (international experience preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment and navigate ambiguity with entrepreneurial thinking.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Advanced technical degree.
- Business‑fluent German.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle topology, communication protocols, and bus systems.
- Familiarity with both German and U.S. Working cultures.
- High customer orientation, professional presence, and ability to synthesize complex information.
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, or perform physical tasks for 3–5 hours.
- Ability to travel long distances (5+ hours).
- Work occurs in office and vehicle test environments, with exposure to noise, vibration, and moving parts.
- Regular use of standard office and testing equipment; occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, or lifting.
