Tasks
Cloud Assessment & Strategy
- Perform cloud readiness and maturity assessments for enterprise clients;
- Analyze existing on-prem workloads and determine migration feasibility, risks, and value;
- Evaluate applications to decide whether cloud migration is necessary, recommended, or counterproductive;
- Estimate costs, TCO, expected optimizations, and ROI of cloud adoption;
Azure Architecture & Design
- Create high-level and low-level architectural designs aligned with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF);
- Design end-to-end Azure solutions including;
- Networking, identity, security;
- Compute, storage, databases;
- Governance, monitoring, and automation;
- Lead technical discovery workshops and create architecture documentation;
Workload Migration
- Identify the right strategy per application: Rehost (lift-and-shift), Refactor, Rearchitect, Rebuild, Retire, Retain
- Define migration waves, dependencies, and cutover strategies;
- Support migration execution and ensure adherence to best practices;
Landing Zone Design & Implementation
Design and implement Azure Landing Zones using:
- Azure Blueprints / Bicep / Terraform;
- Hub-and-Spoke architecture;
- Entra ID integration;
- Management groups, RBAC, policies;
Ensure the landing zone meets requirements for:
- Security;
- Compliance;
- Cost management;
- Scalability;
- Operational excellence;
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams;
- Guide customers on cloud governance, FinOps, DevOps adoption;
- Mentor engineers and provide architectural oversight.
Qualifications
Must have:
- Strong knowledge of Azure Architecture, including governance, networking, security, identity;
- Experience with cloud discovery and assessment tools (Azure Migrate, Mover, Cloudamize, etc.);
- Practical expertise in migration strategies and workload classification;
- Hands-on experience building Azure Landing Zones;
- Strong understanding of Entra ID, RBAC, Conditional Access;
- Experience with IaC (Terraform, Bicep);
- Ability to explain architecture to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in hybrid environments (Azure + on-prem);
- Knowledge of container platforms (AKS), serverless, event-driven architecture;
- Familiarity with DevOps processes and CI/CD tools (GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps);
- FinOps and cost optimization experience;
- Azure VMware Solution (AVS) knowledge;
Certifications (at least one):
Core Azure Certifications
- AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (mandatory);
- AZ-104: Azure Administrator (strongly recommended);
- AZ-900: Fundamentals (nice-to-have);
Advanced / Specialist
- AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer;
- AZ-700: Azure Network Engineer;
- DP-203: Data Engineering (if data-heavy workloads expected);
- Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect (SC-100).
