Research Scientist (m/w/d)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize scientific rationale to design and optimize ligands and entire metal complexes towards high quality preclinical candidates in line with the target profile
- Independently design, plan and execute syntheses of compounds driven by structure property relationship hypotheses
- Collaborate with colleagues from different research areas within interdisciplinary project teams for all aspects of candidate characterization and information
exchange - Supervise external and internal synthetic chemistry labs as needed
- Participate actively in internal and external meetings. Communicate scientific results and project updates in front of decision making bodies
- Analyze competitor and patent landscape, file patent applications in line with patent strategy developed in collaboration with Bayer s patent department
- Collaboration with LO project groups and GPTs (Global Project Teams) as well as active participation in GPTs, e.g. participation in the preparation of
approval dossiers - Present project work and research findings internally, at international conferences and publish data in scientific journals, also cooperate with internal
and external partners
YOUR PROFIL
- PhD in synthetic chemistry with a focus on coordination chemistry and/or metalorganic chemistry or PhD in coordination chemistry with hands on
experience in synthetic chemistry - Expert in the field of coordination chemistry of transition metals (preferably lanthanides and/or actinides). State of the art knowledge in the field
of coordination chemistry is required - Experience in computational modeling of complexes to predict geometry and physicochemical properties is highly desired
- Experience in working with radioactive substances is a plus
- Independently design, plan and execute complex experiments and solve technical problems that arise
- Excellent presentation skills along with the ability to work ina dynamic, interdisciplinary team environment with strong focus and ambition to succeed
- Scientific track record of publications and/or patent applications
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
