As part of an extensive digitization program, thousands of insects are prepared and digitized in the natural history museum in Berlin. State-of-the-art technology and rapid-capture digitization systems ensure that all different kinds of insects become and remain digitally available to the general public and scientists. As a Senior Archivist (m/f/x) in Berlin, you will lend a hand yourself, lead a team and ensure the best possible quality.
As a Senior Archivist (m/f/x):
- you will coordinate the daily start-up for the project team, create a schedule and ensure task division and time recording
- you are responsible for preparation, review and quality control of the preparations
- take care of the coaching of your team members (approx. 8 employees)
- you control the results of the operators in your team, discuss them and make adjustments if necessary
- you are able to conduct job interviews and train new employees.
- You also spend about 50 to 75% of the time preparing and/or scanning materials
You have scanning experience on multiple types of scanning systems and at least 3 years of experience in a production or archive environment. Affinity for coaching employees and very good language skills in English (and preferably German or Dutch), make you the perfect candidate.
