About the Role
As part of IFCO's Marketing team, you will support internal and external communications activities that help inform, engage, and connect employees and external stakeholders across our global organization. You will gain hands-on experience in a global communications environment, work with digital communication platforms and tools, and build your skills in sustainability communications, media relations, digital communications and AI.
The position requires a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours that can be arranged around your studies. Ideally, you are available two days per week and can work from our Pullach office one day per week.
Key responsibilities
Internal Communications & Digital Workplace
- Intranet editing: Create, edit, and publish engaging content for our global intranet (IFCO Info Corner), Viva Engage, and other internal channels.
- Platform management: Maintain, optimize, and improve intranet pages and collaborative digital tools, and help with the intranet relaunch to make the intranet even more relevant for employees.
- Employee Engagement: Support the planning and delivery of global town halls, employee engagement activities, and internal initiatives.
- Corporate Copywriting: Draft and edit news articles, employee stories, leadership messages, newsletters, press releases or other external communication content.
- Asset Organization: Maintain and organize marketing assets, documentation, and digital content libraries for maximum accessibility.
- Localization & QA: Coordinate professional translations and review German-language marketing materials for quality, consistency, and brand alignment.
- Media Monitoring: Support media relations by conducting journalist research, maintaining media lists, and tracking global press coverage.
- PR Analytics: Prepare press clippings, media reports, and coverage analysis using our public relations and media intelligence software platform.
- AI Integration: Explore, test, and apply modern AI tools and digital technologies to optimize content creation and workflows.
- Project Support: Assist with presentations, communication toolkits, and administrative coordination for global marketing projects.
- Educational background - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or preferably a Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, with a strong academic record.
- Communications interest - Enthusiasm for internal and external communications, media, news and storytelling, demonstrated through your studies or internships
- International Mindset - Comfortable working in a collaborative, international environment and engaging with colleagues and stakeholders across different cultures.
- Communication Skills & Languages - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English (required) and German (preferred) with the ability to create clear, engaging, and audience-focused content.
- Organizational Excellence - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Research & Analytical Thinking - Curious and analytical mindset with the ability to conduct research, gather insights, use AI, and support data-informed activities.
- Digital & Creative Tools - Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaborative tools; familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and image editing is a plus.
