QA Manager (m/f/d)

Within Bayer’s worldwie API network, the QA Operations group in Bergkamen is responsible for the operational quality assurance business and the
quality oversight of all APIs in SC Bergkamen. We closely cooperate with our interface partners in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Development, divisional
QA functions, Regulatory Affairs and with external parties. This position allows for flexible working including the option of remote work (partially).
We are looking for a candidate (m/f/d) who supports us with the following tasks:

  • Be responsible for API release decision, specifically for contrast media APIs manufactured by CMOs
  • Act as primary QA contact partner for CMOs as well as for the QPs of the corresponding pharma production sites
  • Define processes and roles & responsibilities for the cooperation with the local Bayer EM CMO representative
  • Establish QA oversight of CMOs and be responsible for CMO qualification
  • Be responsible for the assessment of changes and deviations
  • Assess PQR reports compiled by CMOs and review and evaluate trends (production, QC, and stability testing)
  • Continuously improve processes using OE methods
  • Foster an environment of strong team spirit, sense of urgency and high motivation


  • Science based university degree (chemistry, biologics, biochemistry, pharmaceutics, or equivalent), preferably with PhD
  • Several years of work experience in QA, QC and GMP environment
  • Detailed knowledge of organic and analytical chemistry
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and project management skills; Six Sigma/LEAN education preferred
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and to embrace change
  • Ability to drive results and to put innovative ideas into practice
  • Good command of English and German, both spoken and written
