How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Water Engineer – Plumbing, PPM & Closed Systems
    Manchester | £38,000 + Benefits | Full-time Permanent

    Ready to Take Ownership of Water Systems That Matter?

    We’re looking for a hands-on Water Engineer who wants more than just a job – someone who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, compliant and running efficiently. Operating within the North West Region, you’ll combine practical plumbing skills with PPM and closed system work, carrying out scheduled inspections, testing, servicing and maintenance across a varied portfolio of sites.

    This is a role with real career progression. As you grow in confidence and expertise, there are clear opportunities to develop further – whether that’s taking on more complex systems, mentoring others, or moving into specialist or supervisory positions.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    * Carrying out planned inspections, testing and PPM to keep water systems in top condition

    * Completing plumbing works, from fault-finding and repairs to practical remedial tasks

    * Managing closed system sampling, analysis and chemical treatment

    * Performing temperature monitoring, flushing, TMV servicing, descaling and tank work

    * Keeping accurate compliance records and logbooks so everything stays fully documented

    * Working independently while being supported by an experienced team

    What You’ll Bring

    * Proven experience in plumbing, water hygiene, PPM or closed systems

    * A solid understanding of compliance requirements and safe working practices

    * Full UK driving licence

    * A practical, detail-focused approach and the ability to work on your own initiative

    * Good communication skills and a proactive attitude

    What’s In It For You

    * Competitive salary of £38,000

    * Company van + fuel card

    * Pension scheme

    * 25 days holiday + bank holidays

    * Ongoing training and professional development

    * Lots of career progression – we invest in people who want to grow

    * Overtime opportunities

    * A supportive, experienced team and varied work that keeps you learning

    If you enjoy practical engineering work, like seeing the results of your efforts, and want a role that offers genuine development, we’d love to hear from you
