How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

FULL TIME  ·  MANCHESTER, FIELD BASED  ·  £40,000 TO £45,000 + CAR + UNCAPPED OTE

A true hunter role on a tech led logistics platform. Uncapped commission, no ceiling.

    THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a technology led logistics business whose customers book everything from same day and two person deliveries to long distance moves directly through its portal or API. With ambitious growth plans across SME and mid market customers, it needs a commercially driven Business Development Manager to win new accounts and turn them into recurring revenue.

    THE ROLE

This is a 90% new business, outbound hunter role. You will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to close and early account establishment, then grow a starter portfolio and move customers onto automated, self serve booking. Success is simple: new accounts won, revenue generated and a healthy pipeline. You will report to the Head of Customer Solutions.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    - Hunt new business. Target ideal SME and mid market customers through cold outreach, referrals and networking.

    - Run sharp discovery. Understand volume, service needs, booking frequency and margin potential.

    - Close and convert. Win new accounts and move them to contracted or committed revenue.

    - Reactivate lapsed accounts. Find out why they stopped and reposition the offer.

    - Grow your portfolio. Upsell into higher margin services such as same day and two person.

    - Drive platform adoption. Get customers self booking through the portal and API.

    - Know your numbers. Keep the CRM clean and report weekly on revenue, pipeline and automation.

    ABOUT YOU

    - 3 to 7+ years in B2B sales or business development, ideally logistics, marketplace or platform.

    - A proven record of winning new business and hitting revenue targets.

    - Experience selling operational or technology enabled services, managing the full cycle independently.

    - Confident with objections, pushing deals forward rather than passively following up.

    - Commercially sharp on margin, pricing and contribution, and at home in HubSpot or Salesforce.

    - Same day, courier, freight or transport experience, or API conversations, a real bonus.

    WHAT IS ON OFFER

    - £40,000 to £45,000 base with uncapped commission, OTE £55,000 to £90,000.

    - A genuine hunter role with the backing of a modern, tech led platform.

    - Real ownership of your patch, your pipeline and your results.
