How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Here at Celtic Fire Security, we’re looking for a Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our friendly and growing team on a full-time, permanent basis, covering Merseyside, North Wales and the surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on field-based role responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault finding, repair and commissioning of fire alarm systems across a variety of customer sites. We welcome applications from experienced Fire Alarm Service Technicians as well as enthusiastic candidates with strong practical experience who are looking to build a rewarding career within the fire and security sector through full training and development.

What you receive for joining us:

We’re offering a competitive salary together with a company pension scheme and a supportive working environment. You'll be provided with a company vehicle, fuel card, tools, uniform and mobile phone, along with opportunities for ongoing development and progression within the business.  You’ll also receive 25 days holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays with your Birthday off, working 40hrs per week with overtime available.  Very occasional nights away will be required but all expenses are paid with breakfast and an evening meal and drink provided.

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:

Servicing, inspecting and maintaining fire alarm systems across a range of customer premises to ensure compliance and system reliability
Diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and rectifying system issues efficiently while delivering excellent customer service
Commissioning new fire alarm installations and ensuring systems are operating correctly in line with relevant standards and customer requirements
Travelling throughout Merseyside and North Wales to attend customer sites, completing all required documentation and maintaining company equipment and vehicles

Can you show experience in some of these areas:

Previous hands-on experience within a Fire Alarm Service Technician, Fire & Security Engineer or similar field-based engineering role
Experience carrying out servicing, fault finding, repairs, maintenance and commissioning activities on fire alarm systems would be highly advantageous
A positive and enthusiastic approach with a willingness to learn and develop. Full training can be provided for the right candidate with a strong practical background
Full UK driving licence required (some points may be considered) together with the ability to successfully pass an Enhanced DBS check

    Introducing our organisation:

Celtic Fire Security is proud to be part of Complii. Complii is a leading integrated provider of safety and regulatory compliance services across our water, air, fire, electrical and vertical transportation divisions, supporting organisations nationwide to operate safely, compliantly and responsibly
