How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a previous engineering background or some basic hands-on engineering experience who is looking to develop their technical skills and build a long-term career within maintenance engineering.

Working alongside an experienced engineering team, you will gain valuable exposure to planned and reactive maintenance, machinery breakdowns and general engineering support across the production facility. Full training and ongoing development will be available to help you build your knowledge and progress within the role.

This position would suit someone who is practical, enthusiastic and keen to learn, with a genuine interest in engineering and machinery.

    Role Description:

Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
Supporting the engineering team with machinery breakdowns and fault finding
Learning to identify and resolve basic mechanical and electrical faults
Assisting with the maintenance of conveyors, bearings, belts, chains and other production equipment
Supporting the installation, repair and servicing of machinery
Following all site health and safety procedures
Working alongside experienced engineers to develop practical maintenance skills

    Skills and Qualifications:

Previous engineering experience or a basic engineering background
An interest in mechanical and electrical maintenance
An engineering qualification, apprenticeship or relevant practical experience would be advantageous
A hands-on approach with a willingness to learn
Good problem-solving skills and a positive attitude
Reliable, motivated and keen to develop a career in maintenance engineering

In return, my client offers a fantastic opportunity to join a stable manufacturing business, with a competitive salary of £35,000, day shifts and the chance to develop your engineering skills within a supportive team.
