Peterborough (Lynch Wood) | £32,000 – £35,000 + incentives + on-call allowance | Full-time, Permanent | Monday–Friday, 8:30–5:30
Ready to be the right hand of a growing home care service?
This is a brand-new role. Our client, a CQC Good-rated home care provider in Peterborough, has grown steadily over the past year and is strengthening its management team. They’re looking for an experienced dom care leader to work alongside the Registered Manager and help run the service day to day.
About the service
They deliver over 2,000 care hours a week to more than 120 people across Peterborough and the surrounding villages. Most of the work is commissioned by Peterborough City Council, with some private clients, and carers work on geographic runs. Alongside home care, they have smaller, growing live-in, supported living and children’s services, which you’d help to develop.
Your team
You’ll lead the office team: a Senior Care Coordinator, Care Coordinators, a Care Administrator (Recruitment & Compliance), and Care Compliance Officers who carry out spot checks and investigations.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll deputise for the Registered Manager and take the lead on the day-to-day running of the service. That means managing referrals from first enquiry to start of care, making sure runs are covered and carers are consistent, and acting on missed or late calls the same day.
The role is around 60% office-based and 40% in the community, carrying out assessments, reviews and spot checks. You’ll also lead supervisions, appraisals and training, oversee audits and safeguarding, and keep the service CQC inspection-ready. You’ll work closely with families, social workers, health professionals and commissioners, and take part in the on-call rota around one week in four.
You’ll need
* Management or senior experience in domiciliary care (residential experience alone won’t be suitable)
* Confidence with rotas, call monitoring and care packages
* Experience leading coordinators or care teams
* Good knowledge of CQC regulations and safeguarding
* A full UK driving licence, your own car, and to live within around 30 miles of Peterborough
It would be a real bonus if you have experience supporting children and young people, ideally children’s packages in the community or working with families and children’s social care. Their children’s service is growing, and they’d love someone who can help develop it.
Level 4 isn’t essential. If you’re working towards it, or have strong dom care experience without it, we’d still love to hear from you.
What’s on offer
* £32,000 – £35,000 depending on experience, plus performance-related incentives
* Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, with on-call around one week in four
* On-call allowance for each on-call period, plus mileage if you need to attend in person
* Paid mileage for work travel
* 28 days’ holiday including bank holidays
* Funded Level 5 in Leadership & Management
* Company pension and support from a group-level operations and compliance team
* Real progression in a growing business
