How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced recruitment professional with a strong eye for detail and a passion for delivering a high-quality recruitment service? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where compliance, stakeholder engagement and process excellence are key?

City of Wolverhampton Council is looking for an HR Recruitment Support Executive to join its busy HR and Recruitment team, supporting the delivery of end-to-end recruitment activities across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least two years of recruitment experience, ideally gained within a regulated environment, who is confident managing recruitment administration, compliance processes and stakeholder queries.

    The Role

As an HR Recruitment Support Executive, you will play a vital role in ensuring recruitment processes run smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with hiring managers and HR colleagues, you will support a variety of recruitment and compliance activities while helping to maintain excellent candidate and manager experiences.

This position would suit an organised and proactive recruitment professional who enjoys problem-solving, managing competing priorities and supporting recruitment projects.

    Key Responsibilities

Reviewing and approving vacancy requisitions, ensuring accuracy of position numbers, advert details and DBS requirements.
Supporting the recruitment of senior-level appointments across the organisation.
Managing and resolving recruitment and compliance queries from hiring managers.
Chasing outstanding DBS documentation and supporting the completion of pre-employment checks.
Handling DBS-related enquiries and ensuring compliance with recruitment procedures.
Producing recruitment reports and supporting the analysis of performance metrics and recruitment data.
Assisting with recruitment improvement initiatives and wider HR project work.
Maintaining accurate recruitment records and supporting a compliant recruitment process.

    About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A minimum of two years' recruitment experience.
Previous experience working within an HR, recruitment or talent acquisition function.
Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Experience working within a regulated environment where compliance is a key focus.
Knowledge of DBS processes and safer recruitment practices would be highly advantageous.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience producing reports and analysing recruitment performance data.
The ability to manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy.

    Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience within a large and respected local authority, supporting meaningful recruitment activity that helps deliver vital public services across the city. You will join a welcoming team environment where your recruitment expertise, attention to detail and compliance knowledge will make an immediate impact.

If you have recruitment experience, enjoy working collaboratively and have a strong understanding of compliance-focused recruitment processes, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today.

If you do not hear back in 5 working days your application has not been successful.
