How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The ideal candidate will have experience in groundworks, formwork, reinforcement and concrete construction. Experience in highways, drainage, piling, marine engineering or coastal protection would also be highly advantageous.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Attend site visits, tender meetings and commercial reviews.

    • Prepare preliminary method statements, health and safety plans and project programmes.

    • Issue subcontractor enquiries, evaluate quotations and obtain competitive pricing.

    • Work closely with purchasing, plant and operational teams to establish accurate project costs.

    • Compile and submit tender packages via client procurement portals.

    • Complete Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and maintain client framework documentation.

    • Participate in tender adjudications alongside the commercial team.

    • Ensure successful tenders are handed over effectively to the project delivery teams.

    Skills and Experience Required

    • Previous estimating experience within civil engineering, groundworks or a related construction sector.

    • Good knowledge of reinforced concrete, formwork, reinforcement and associated construction activities.

    • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

    • Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical skills.

    • High attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

    • Effective communication, organisation and negotiation skills.

    • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and producing competitive tenders.

    Desirable Experience

Experience in marine engineering and coastal protection schemes would be particularly beneficial, including projects involving:

    • Sea walls and coastal defences.

    • Revetments and groynes.

    • Beach nourishment.

    • Coastal protection and erosion prevention.

    • Highways, drainage and piling works.

If you have a strong civil engineering background and the estimating experience to deliver accurate, competitive tenders, we would like to hear from you.
