How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A growing construction consultancy in Manchester is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join its established team, working predominantly on healthcare and education projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to take ownership of meaningful public sector schemes while working within a supportive and ambitious consultancy.

The Senior Project Manager will lead projects from inception through to completion, managing clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders. This Senior Project Manager role would suit an experienced Senior Project Manager who enjoys hands-on project delivery rather than moving immediately into a management-focused position. The successful Senior Project Manager will have the opportunity to lead their own commissions across healthcare and education, with genuine responsibility for project outcomes.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Senior Project Manager's role

The Senior Project Manager will independently lead healthcare and education projects through pre-contract and post-contract stages.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for programme management, procurement, consultant coordination, contract administration, risk management, change control, and project reporting.

The Senior Project Manager will chair meetings, manage multidisciplinary teams, monitor contractor performance, and maintain strong relationships with public sector clients. They will also coordinate with operational stakeholders, particularly where projects involve live hospitals, schools, or other occupied buildings.

    The Senior Project Manager

The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

Strong experience working within a construction consultancy

Experience delivering healthcare, education, or similar public sector projects

Proven ability to independently manage projects from inception through to completion

A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline

MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or another relevant professional qualification

Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts

Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills

    Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams

Experience working in live or occupied environments would be beneficial

A proactive, commercially aware, and delivery-focused approach

    In Return?

    £65,000 - £75,000

    Healthcare and education project exposure

    Opportunity to lead projects independently

    Strong public sector project pipeline

    Direct client-facing responsibility

    Ongoing professional development

    Opportunities for long-term career progression

    Supportive Manchester consultancy team
