How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Architectural Hardware Industry | West Midlands
    Salary: £45,000 - £55,000+ DOE
    Minimum 3 Days Office-Based
    Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm | Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm
Exclusive Assignment – SFR Recruitment Solutions

SFR Recruitment Solutions are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a respected and well-established manufacturer within the architectural hardware sector.

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a Technical Sales Manager to take responsibility for a portfolio of key customers while developing new opportunities across the market.

This is a varied role combining technical sales, key account management and project management, with a mixture of both internal and external responsibilities.

The position would be particularly well suited to somebody already established within the architectural ironmongery or door hardware sector who is ready to take the next step in their career and wants greater commercial and customer responsibility.

    The Role

As Technical Sales Manager, you will become a key point of contact for customers, providing technical expertise while managing accounts, projects and commercial opportunities.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    * Managing and developing a portfolio of key customer accounts

    * Building strong, long-term relationships with customers

    * Developing new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts

    * Undertaking a mixture of office-based and external customer-facing activity

    * Visiting customers and attending project meetings where required

    * Providing technical advice on architectural ironmongery and door hardware solutions

    * Reviewing project requirements, specifications and architects' drawings

    * Supporting the preparation of door hardware schedules and technical quotations

    * Managing projects from initial enquiry and specification through to order and delivery

    * Working closely with design, manufacturing and production teams on bespoke requirements

    * Helping customers overcome technical challenges and identify the most appropriate product solutions

    * Supporting the continued growth of the business across UK and international markets

    The Ideal Candidate

Our client is keen to speak with individuals who already have a good understanding of the architectural ironmongery and door hardware industry and are looking to progress into a broader technical and commercial position.

    Ideally, you will have:

    * Strong knowledge of architectural ironmongery, door hardware and associated products

    * Experience within technical sales, specification, scheduling, project management or key account management

    * Experience interpreting architects' drawings and/or producing door hardware schedules

    * A strong understanding of technical product selection and specification

    * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

    * DipGAI qualification or be currently working towards the GAI Diploma

    * A desire to continue developing both technically and commercially

This could be an excellent progression opportunity for an experienced Architectural Ironmongery Scheduler, Technical Sales Executive, Specification Consultant, Project Manager or Account Manager who feels ready to take on greater customer and commercial responsibility.

    Location / Working Pattern

The position is based in the West Midlands, with a requirement to be in the office for a minimum of three days per week.

The remaining time will provide flexibility for external customer meetings, site/project visits and other business requirements.

    What’s on Offer?

    * Scope to consider a higher package for an exceptional candidate

    * Group Life Insurance

    * 30 days annual leave including your birthday

    * Early finish every Friday

    * Comprehensive product and manufacturing training

    * Long-term career progression within a growing business

    * Opportunity to develop key UK and international customer relationships

    * Supportive and collaborative working environment

    * A role offering a genuine combination of technical, commercial and project responsibility
