How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Chef de Partie

Fine Dining Restaurant with Rooms | West Sussex

Package up to £37,000 (Salary + Equal Share of Gratuities)
Wednesday to Sunday | Monday & Tuesday Off

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Chef de Partie to join one of West Sussex's most respected fine dining restaurants, working alongside an acclaimed Michelin-starred Chef.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Chef looking to develop their skills in a high-quality kitchen, working with exceptional seasonal ingredients and learning from an experienced team. You'll be joining a small, close-knit brigade where craftsmanship, creativity and attention to detail are at the heart of everything they do, with genuine opportunities to progress your career.

    The Restaurant

Nestled within the beautiful West Sussex countryside, this award-winning restaurant with luxury rooms has built an outstanding reputation for modern British cuisine, exceptional service and a genuine passion for provenance.

The kitchen works with the finest seasonal ingredients, creating elegant tasting menus and refined à la carte dishes that celebrate the very best of British produce. Every plate is thoughtfully prepared, with a real emphasis on precision, consistency and presentation.

You'll work alongside an experienced Michelin-starred Chef within a brigade of just five chefs, giving you the opportunity to learn, contribute ideas and develop your technical ability in a supportive but ambitious environment.

It's also a hugely exciting time to join the business. Approved expansion plans are already in place for a significant extension, including a second restaurant and an additional 10 luxury guest rooms. This investment brings genuine opportunities for career development as the business continues to grow.

    The Role

As Chef de Partie, you'll take ownership of your section, helping deliver exceptional food across the restaurant's tasting menus and à la carte service.

You'll be working with high-quality, seasonal produce and be encouraged to develop your skills, bring ideas to the table and take pride in delivering consistently high standards. This is an ideal role for a Chef who wants to build on their existing experience and progress within a quality-driven kitchen.

    Key Responsibilities

Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your section.

Prepare and deliver high-quality dishes for tasting menus and à la carte service.

Maintain excellent standards of flavour, presentation and consistency.

Work with seasonal ingredients and the finest available produce.

Support the Head Chef and wider brigade with menu development and new ideas.

Ensure mise en place is organised and service runs smoothly.

Maintain strong food hygiene, allergen awareness and kitchen standards.

Assist with stock control, ordering and minimising food waste.

Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a positive and professional kitchen environment.

Take an active interest in learning, developing and progressing as the business grows.

    About You

Currently working as a Chef de Partie or a strong Demi Chef de Partie ready to take the next step.

Experience in a quality fresh-food restaurant, ideally within Michelin-starred, 3 Rosette or premium fine dining kitchens.

Passionate about modern British cuisine, seasonal ingredients and quality produce.

Organised, reliable and able to maintain high standards during busy services.

Takes pride in presentation, consistency and attention to detail.

A positive team player with a genuine willingness to learn.

Ambitious and keen to develop their skills within an excellent kitchen.

If you're a passionate Chef looking to work with outstanding ingredients, learn from an experienced Michelin-starred Chef and become part of an exciting, growing restaurant, this is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career.

Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age
