How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO)
    Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands
    Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Flexible, with hybrid options

MET Recruitment is recruiting a Money Laundering Reporting Officer on behalf of an established business in the regulated gambling sector.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the anti-money laundering function within a business that has invested in its compliance and governance framework. With board-level support, you will have genuine influence over how policies, procedures and controls are developed and implemented.

    The role

As MLRO and nominated officer, you will lead the business’s approach to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing. Working closely with senior management and operational teams, you will ensure controls are effective, proportionate and embedded in day-to-day operations.

    Key responsibilities

Receive and assess internal suspicious activity reports, deciding whether to submit SARs to the National Crime Agency.
Own and maintain the business-wide AML/CTF risk assessment, policies and procedures.
Ensure controls reflect the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, POCA and Gambling Commission requirements.
Oversee customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, source of funds and source of wealth checks, and ongoing customer monitoring.
Review and sign off enhanced due diligence cases, requests for information and decisions to suspend or end customer relationships.
Oversee sanctions, politically exposed person (PEP) and adverse media screening.
Develop and deliver AML training for staff and managers, encouraging a strong reporting culture.
Produce regular reports for senior management and the board.
Act as a key contact for the Gambling Commission and other authorities, including responding to information requests.
    About you

Proven experience in an AML or financial crime compliance role, ideally within gambling or another regulated sector.
Strong working knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, POCA, the Terrorism Act 2000 and Gambling Commission requirements.
An AML qualification, such as an ICA Certificate or Diploma, or willingness to work towards one.
Able to hold or obtain a Gambling Commission Personal Management Licence.
Confident making decisions, exercising sound judgement and challenging constructively.
Able to explain regulatory requirements clearly to colleagues at every level.
Organised and thorough, with strong record-keeping skills and attention to detail.
    What’s on offer

A permanent role with genuine influence and responsibility.
Board-level support for compliance and governance.
The opportunity to shape and strengthen the business’s AML framework.
A flexible working pattern, with hybrid options.
