How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

Green Sky Renewables is looking for a qualified Electrician to join our growing team. The role combines renewable energy installation with general electrical work across domestic and social housing properties, and commercial sites where required. Domestic experience is essential; commercial experience is beneficial.

You’ll take ownership from survey to handover, working independently or with Roofers, Plumbers, Heating Engineers, Site Managers and Subcontractors.

    What You Will Be Doing:

Renewables: Install, connect, test, commission and fault-find solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage systems and EV charge points.
Domestic electrical work: Carry out rewires, new circuits, consumer unit works, lighting, sockets, cooker supplies, extractor fans, appliances, alterations, additions, repairs and remedial works.
Inspection and testing: Carry out EICRs, initial verification, fault-finding and remedial testing, producing accurate certification and reports.
Certification: Complete EICs, Minor Works Certificates, EICRs, renewable commissioning documents and records through the company’s accreditation and certification portals.
Solar commissioning: Complete AC / DC testing, inverter and battery commissioning, manufacturer set-up, monitoring configuration and customer handover.
EV charging: Install and commission domestic and commercial EV charge points, including load management and CT monitoring where applicable.
ASHP electrical works: Provide electrical supplies, isolation, protection, wiring and associated work for air source heat pump installations, coordinating with Heating Engineers.
Site surveys: Survey solar PV, battery, EV charger and electrical works, recording installation details, cable routes, equipment locations, access needs and constraints.
Project delivery: Complete installations safely and efficiently, communicating progress and raising issues early.
Customer care: Represent the company professionally in homes, social housing, commercial premises and construction environments.

    Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Recognised Level 3 electrical installation qualification or apprenticeship / equivalent suitable for domestic electrical work.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification and current knowledge of BS 7671.
Recognised solar PV installation qualification and practical installation / commissioning experience.
Recognised electrical energy storage / battery installation qualification and practical experience.
Recognised EV charge points installation qualification and practical experience.
Relevant inspection and testing qualification to carry out EICRs and complete certification competently.
Proven experience in occupied domestic properties, including electrical installation, alterations, testing and remedial works.
Competent in completing electrical test certificates and digital records accurately.
    Full UK driving licence.

    Beneficial Experience:

Commercial electrical installation and three-phase experience.
Wiring air source heat pumps or working alongside Heating Engineers.
Solar PV system design, string design and equipment selection.
Coordinating Subcontractors, other trades or small site teams.
Surveying and pricing electrical or renewable energy works.
Recognised EV charge points installation qualification and practical experience installing and commissioning EV chargers.

    How We Work

We’re looking for someone motivated, reliable and positive, with a strong work ethic and pride in their work. You must work independently while supporting the wider team.

We’re collaborative and solutions-focused, valuing clear communication, constructive problem-solving and high professional standards. A consistently negative or disruptive approach is not compatible with how we work.

    Support and Training:

You’ll receive full back-office support, including job scheduling, job information, customer communication and administration, allowing you to focus on safe, high-quality site work.
    Administrative and scheduling support.
Regular manufacturer training on solar inverters, batteries, EV charge points and other technologies we install.
Ongoing training as regulations, products and manufacturer requirements change.
Support to broaden formal qualifications and technical capability for the right candidate.

The Opportunity To Grow With Us

Help develop the electrical / renewables department as we grow, becoming a trusted technical team member and improving how we deliver our work.

Initially, the focus is on surveys, installations, testing, commissioning, fault-finding and customer handover. As workload and the team expand, the role is intended to develop into supervision, with increasing responsibility for running contracts and projects, maintaining installation and compliance standards, coordinating teams and Subcontractors, carrying out surveys, supporting pricing and design, and developing departmental procedures.

Progression depends on capability, attitude and performance, offering the right person a genuine chance to shape the role.
