How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employment Solicitor (Associate) to join a well-established, employee-owned law firm based in Leeds city centre. With a strong presence across Yorkshire and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service, the firm offers a supportive and progressive working environment where employees are encouraged to develop their expertise and build long-term careers.
This opportunity would suit an Employment Solicitor with around five years' PQE or more, who is looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking legal team.
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, with a particular focus on executive exits and claimant employment litigation, while also supporting the wider Company and Commercial team under the supervision of a Partner. Experience in respondent litigation or advising employers on non-contentious employment matters would be advantageous.
The firm operates a hybrid working model, with a combination of office and home working available following successful completion of the probationary period. As an employee-owned business, the firm also offers an opportunity to share in its success through a profit-sharing scheme, alongside a culture that values collaboration, professional development and individual contribution.
    JOB ROLE:
As an Employment Solicitor (Associate), you will be responsible for managing a range of employment law matters, providing clear, commercially focused advice and maintaining excellent standards of client care.
    Key responsibilities will include:
    * Managing a varied caseload of employment law matters, with a particular focus on executive exits and claimant employment litigation.
    * Handling employment tribunal claims and supporting clients throughout the litigation process.
    * Assisting the Company and Commercial team with employment-related matters as required.
    * Advising clients on complex employment law issues and providing practical, commercially minded solutions.
    * Drafting clear, accurate and effective legal correspondence, pleadings and other legal documentation.
    * Representing clients and presenting legal arguments effectively, both orally and in writing.
    * Building and maintaining strong client relationships through professional, responsive and approachable service.
    * Ensuring all matters are managed efficiently, accurately and in accordance with relevant procedures and deadlines.
    * Working collaboratively with colleagues and under the guidance of a Partner to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
    * Keeping up to date with developments in employment legislation and relevant case law.
    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
    * Around five years' PQE or equivalent relevant employment law experience.
    * A strong understanding of employment law and the employment tribunal process.
    * Experience managing employment litigation, particularly claimant-side matters.
    * Previous respondent litigation experience or experience advising employers on non-contentious employment matters would be advantageous.
    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and confidently.
    * Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines effectively.
    * Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to managing legal matters.
    * A professional, approachable manner and a strong commitment to client care.
    * The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    * A proactive, adaptable approach, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
    * Confident IT skills and a willingness to develop knowledge and expertise.
    * A current practising certificate, where applicable.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Employment Solicitor to join a supportive legal team, develop their expertise and progress their career within an employee-owned firm that recognises and rewards individual contribution.
