How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Cover Supervisor - Hammersmith and Fulham

Flexible supply opportunities in secondary schools

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking reliable, confident and enthusiastic individuals to support secondary schools across Hammersmith and Fulham whenever supply cover is required.

Are you confident working with young people and looking for flexible work? As a Cover Supervisor, you will help ensure lessons run smoothly during teacher absences, supporting students to stay focused and complete their assigned work.

Previous experience working with young people is essential. We welcome applicants with experience in schools, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, tutoring or other roles involving the support and supervision of young people.

    Duties and responsibilities

Supervise secondary school classes during teacher absences.

Distribute and explain pre-prepared lesson materials.

Encourage students to remain focused and complete their work.

Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.

Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures and health and safety guidance.

Report concerns or incidents to the appropriate member of school staff.

    What you will need

To be eligible for a Cover Supervisor role, you will need:

Previous experience working with young people and confidence managing groups.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to manage behaviour calmly and professionally.

A flexible, dependable and proactive attitude.

    Good written and spoken English.

The ability to adapt to different school environments.

The right to work in the UK and willingness to complete the required recruitment and safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

A degree is desirable but not essential for every opportunity. Relevant experience, reliability and a positive attitude are particularly important.

    Benefits of working on supply

Flexibility: Accept assignments that fit around your availability and existing commitments.

Variety: Experience different schools and meet new colleagues.

Professional development: Develop your classroom management and communication skills.

Career opportunities: Gain valuable experience if you are considering a future career in education.

Ongoing support: Receive guidance from Tradewind Recruitment to help identify suitable assignments.

These opportunities are offered on an ad hoc basis when schools require additional cover. Work availability may vary, and assignments are not guaranteed every day.

If you are looking for flexible education work in Hammersmith and Fulham, this could be an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience while making a positive difference to students.
